1. What is UPI?

Unified Payment Interface" (UPI) enables all bank account holders (of banks participating in UPI) to send and receive money through mobile platform with a single identifier as UPI ID, and without the need to remember any beneficiary details. UPI can also be used for merchant transactions.

2. What is IndusPay?

IndusPay is the UPI App from IndusInd Bank which allows customers to make payments instantly from any bank account, using just a UPI ID, and without the need to remember any beneficiary details.

3. What is a UPI ID?

UPI ID is an identifier (For example, abc@indusind, where 'abc' is the unique name chosen by you) which can be uniquely mapped to any desired account of any UPI enabled bank

4. What are the steps to register for IndusPay?

Following are the steps to register for IndusPay

  • Download & install the IndusPay App from the Android PLAY store
  • Select the preferred language.
  • Select option to be registered as consumer/Merchant.
  • Select the SIM card which has the mobile number registered with respective bank account & send a SMS to a virtual number for the device binding.
  • Select your bank account details & create your UPI ID.
  • On successful creation of UPI ID you can set your application pin.
  • Once the application pin has been set you will get registered for the App.

5. How can I link my account number with IndusPay App?

The account number can be linked with UPI ID during registration or from Account management option within the App. You simply need to select the desired bank and all your accounts linked to the IndusPay registered mobile number will be fetched and displayed. You can select the account and link the same to your UPI ID.

6. Can I link more than one account to single UPI ID?

Yes, you can. Choose your existing UPI ID while linking your second bank account. If you link more than 1 account to a UPI ID, you can set a default account to send and receive money.

7. How do I change my default account?

You can change default account by selecting the set preferred account option on the App.

8. How can I set a UPI PIN for an account?

Option 1: Using a Debit Card

  1. Go to Account Management in the UPI app.
  2. Select the account for which you want to set the UPI PIN.
  3. Click Set PIN.
  4. Enter: 
    • Last 6 digits of your Debit Card
    • Debit Card Expiry Date (MM/YY)
  5. Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.
  6. Create a new 6-digit UPI PIN.
  7. Re-enter the UPI PIN to confirm.
  8. Your UPI PIN has been set successfully.

Option 2: Using an Aadhaar Card

  1. Go to Account Management in the UPI app.
  2. Select the account for which you want to set the UPI PIN.
  3. Click Set PIN.
  4. Provide consent for Aadhaar authentication.
  5. Enter the first 6 digits of your Aadhaar number.
  6. Enter the OTPs received on your registered mobile number: 
    • One OTP from your Bank
    • One OTP from UIDAI
  7. Create a new 6-digit UPI PIN.
  8. Re-enter the UPI PIN to confirm.
  9. Your UPI PIN has been set successfully.

9. What are the options to send money using IndusPay?

The following options are available to send money using IndusPay:

  • UPI ID
  • Mobile Number
  • Scan & Pay (UPI QR Code)
  • Account Number and IFSC Code

10. How can I send money using a UPI ID on IndusPay?

You can send money from ‘Consumer’ section of IndusPay app by following the steps below:

  • Click on the Pay option on the app and pay using UPI ID.
  • Enter payee UPI ID, amount & remarks (optional).
  • Select the bank account to be debited.
  • Enter the UPI PIN and the transaction will go through

11. How can I check my transaction status?

Transaction status can be checked using the transaction history option on the app

12. What details do I need to send money?

You can send money using any of the following beneficiary details: 

  • UPI ID
  • Mobile Number
  • UPI QR Code

13. Is there a limit on the value of transactions when I am sending requesting money using UPI?

Currently, the per-transaction cap is INR 100,000 for send money. This may change from time to time and is subject to the UPI guidelines. There may be some additional overall daily limit put in on the app

14. How to log complaint on BHIM IndusPay?

You can go to the option transaction history & can log a complaint for any transaction from the app itself. Once you have raised a complaint, you can check the status of your complaint with the option of transaction status.

15. What if the fund transfer transaction gets failed or transferred is made to incorrect account?

You need to recheck all the beneficiary details while making any transactions. In case, if any such error occurs, you can raise complaint from the application itself through the complaint section.
In case of failed transactions, amount will be refunded to the account within 7 working days automatically.

16. How safe is doing transaction with IndusPay UPI app?

UPI is highly secured as it works on two factor authentication (2FA), one being registered mobile number & second being UPI Pin.

17. Are there any charges for BHIM IndusPay?

No, it is free of cost.

18. What is Scan & Pay?

It is a type of payment facility you can use for paying your shopping/grocery/auto/taxi fare etc bill at the bill counter where QR code is displayed. You will have to scan QR code through your BHIM IndusPay after that all details of beneficiary will be displayed at the mobile app & payment will be made once you click the approve payment by entering UPI Pin.

Note: Only QR which is generated through UPI application can be scanned through BHIM IndusPay.

19. What are the benefits of payments collection through UPI when cash is easily available for disposal?

With increased promotions of digital payments in India there has also been increased push from consumers to transact through UPI which is easy and convenient. Also it give and additional opportunity to the merchant to cater to the customer and capitalizes on the additional business which might have lost due to Change/tender issues.

20.How is QR implementation through UPI QR and Bharat QR different?

BHIM QR is UPI Based QR. It is preferably used for P2P or P2M Transaction using UPI ID. Bharat QR is specifically used for P2M transaction wherein payment is done via cards i.e., UPI/Debit card/Credit Card/Pre-paid Card

21. How long these QR is valid?

The QR codes enabled for the merchants can be used as long as the merchant’s business /Bank account is operational.

22. How offline merchant can enable the UPI system?

Offline merchant can use the IndusPay UPI QR on App display, share it with the customer and/or print & place a physical static QR on outlet. Offline merchant can also use their UPI ID to initiate the transaction.

23. Can merchant link his current account, saving account for accepting payments?

Yes UPI is supported for all accepting payments in all the types of accounts.

24. Do I need to open different account to on-board as a Merchant on IndusPay UPI QR?

No, merchants need not have to open a separate account to register as a merchant. Merchant may link his/her existing IndusInd Bank account.

25.How do I receive money using IndusPay as a Merchant?

As a Merchant on IndusPay, you may use the BHIM UPI QR to collect payments:

  • Click on the UPI Icon & your Merchant BHIM UPI QR will be displayed on the app
  • Display the QR & ask your customer to scan it using any BHIM UPI enabled mobile banking app or other payment apps like GooglePay, PhonePay, PayTM etc.
  • As soon as the customer scans the QR and completes the payment, you will receive a transaction confirmation on your app/SMS

26. Can I change my registered account with IndusPay UPI QR?

Yes, you can change the bank account details to any other IndusInd Bank account that you may hold.

27. What other services are available in IndusPay App?

Currently, apart from payments, you can also use IndusPay app to recharge your Delhi Metro (DMRC) smart card instantly.

Other services that we plan to enable in future are:

  • Mobile recharge
  • DTH recharge
  • Data Card recharge
  • Electricity Bill Payments
  • Insurance Payments etc.

28. What is UPI Mandate & its benefit?

With this feature you can pre-authorise (Mandate) a transaction, for debit from your bank account later. UPI mandate is to be used in scenarios where money is to be transferred later, however the commitment towards that is to be done now. It is possible that the sender may forget to send money later so creates a mandate or for a service/merchant payment wherein this functionality may be required. The customer's account shall get debited when the mandate is executed.

Benefits:

  • Can create mandate for payments that are to be done later.
  • In case of merchant payments/service, it acts as assurance to both the customer as well as merchant.

29. How to use UPI mandate in BHIM Induspay?

Open BHIM IndusPay app & click on the UPI mandate option. There are four tabs My Mandates, Create, Scan, and request receive. My Mandates will show you all the mandates that you have created, whereas scan option will let you create one using the recipient s QR code & request receive will show the mandate request received.

30. How to create mandate?

  • Tap on Create under UPI Mandate and it will show you your recent UPI contacts to whom you have sent money. Choose one of the contacts, or add a new UPI ID on the top bar.
  • Choose the validity (start and end date), add remark (what the funds are for)
  • Enter the amount and tap to proceed. It will ask you for the frequency, which is one-time by default.
  • Enter your UPI Pin & mandate will be created.
  • Details can be checked in ‘My Mandate’ section & can be revoked and executed from this section.
